This was originally a posy by third_eye_thirst on Instagram but I think that these are better internalized if connected with some personal stories and as Instagram goes there is not much space so here I am.

I’ll be posting these through the curating of the page, now here are some life lessons:

  1. No one has it all figured out — and by a fucking long shot. example. My mother, the woman that was my idol growing up, had me at 22 and was lost as fuck. She did the best she could with what she had and that is the best we can hope from ourselves and others but everyone has different standards which I believe is where disappointment and resentment stem from. My mother was a strong woman who had her mindset in giving her daughter the best she could with the little she was able to provide and I have gone through admiration, anger, disappointment, and pride for my mother our journey has been long and at time traitorous, maybe mainly for me since I don’t really tell her much anymore but again I don’t know everything either so there are probably mistakes that I am making right now as we speak and there are probably things that I will look at back tomorrow and wish I had done better but just because we all may not have it all figured out doesn’t mean that we do not have to learn from them.
  2. Being nice is overrated, be kind be fair be understanding not “nice” — Being polite, being adequate, being proper and fair are not the same as being nice. Unfortunately, nice to people equals pushover, a rug to walk on and easily taken advantage of and people will practice this abuse on “nice” people be family, “friends”, co-workers and acquaintances. You never have to be “nice” to anyone that does not merit it, we can be good, fair and understanding I even encourage watching some videos on empathy and fairness but to be “nice” people assume that this is ongoing with no repercussion this is where if you have self-respect and self-worth people quickly realize how wrong they are.
  3. To love is to be vulnerable, let your guard down — To love means that you have loved yourself. To love means that you have grown so much love for yourself within yourself that it now overflows. You misy have enough self-respect enough life and love to want to even consider giving time and attention to anyone else. Sometimes we may have the time for those people or at least we think we do but then we go and give them sometime just to find ourselves lost in the incandescent light and our needy moth brains go back to our unhealthy habits if losing ourselves into our partners. So people make sure that you have enough love, life, and self-respect for yourself and your time and who You are in a cellular level before you go and give time to others but when you do make sure that you know you can open up and BE vulnerable because you KNOW who you are.
  4. Good or bad, you can learn from everybody. — The best lessons in life are the ones that you learned from people making their own errors, second-hand errors. This avoids you from going through the actual pain and turmoils that those people are going through themselves. This is something to say thanks to and make sure you do not forget these lessons now how does this align with “good or bad” you can learn from everyone? Good people are good to learn from if they taught you a lesson or you try to be more like the and bad people they will teach you so much more, you can learn your boundaries and how t9o protect them you can learn who you are willing to accept in your life and how to block them and delete them form your world and perception and even what kind of person you do not want to be like.
